What the question is asking

Item 53 asks whether you have watched pornographic material. It is one of the most commonly checked items in the second half of the checklist and one of the very few that requires no other person at all.

Where people disagree about what counts

The item does not define pornographic, does not set a minimum duration, and does not say whether it was watched deliberately. Accidental exposure — a link that turned out to be something else — is read as not counting by most takers, on the basis that "watched" implies choosing to.

The test is self-scored and nobody else ever sees your answer, so the only thing that matters is applying one reading consistently across the whole checklist.

Does accidental exposure count for item 53?

Most takers say no. "Watched" is generally read as deliberate, so a link that turned out to be something unexpected is not usually counted.

Is there a minimum amount of time?

No. The checklist sets no duration for this item or for any other except item 14.

Does item 53 involve another person?

No. It is one of the few items on the checklist that describes something entirely solitary, alongside items 51, 53 and several of the substance items.
