About this Rice Purity Test

The Rice Purity Test — also searched for as a purity quiz, purity exam, pure test, or innocence test — is a self-scored 100-item checklist associated with Rice University student culture. It is not a diagnostic instrument and it produces no clinical, psychological, or moral judgement. It is a count of how many of one particular list of experiences you have had.

This version keeps the familiar 100-item format and equal one-point weighting: every checked item removes exactly one point, so no question counts more than any other. There is no timer, no login, and no submission step. Read the methodology and privacy notes for exactly what is stored and what is claimed.

The five question categories

Category Items
Sexual 56
Social & Dating 15
Substances 14
Legal 11
Academic 4
Total 100

Categories are an organisational aid only. They do not change an item's one-point weight and they do not create separate sub-scores.

After you finish

Your result page shows the exact arithmetic, the descriptive band your total falls into, and a category breakdown calculated locally. Every score from 0 to 100 also has its own explanation page — see the complete 0–100 score chart or the scoring guide.
